Hi Everyone—total newbie here, so please go easy on me!
I’ve successfully populated my HA Green (via ZBT-2) with a small army of Sonoff on/off switches that work perfectly. But now that I’m trying to graduate to dimming with the Sonoff MINI ZBDIM, I’ve hit a wall—literally.
The Wiring Conundrum: I’m currently playing a game of “Trust the Internet vs. Trust the Video.” The official Sonoff video suggests wiring one of the Live ports on the sonoff to the switch Common, then the S1 on the sonoff to the L1/L2 on the switch but the rest of the world (and common sense) screams that putting 220V through the 5V S1 port is a recipe for expensive smoke. I’ve opted for the “don’t set the house on fire” route and have my switch wired strictly as a dry contact between S1 and S2.
The Digital Dead-End: The device paired to HA instantly and I can dim from my dashboard like a pro. However, my physical wall switch is currently just a decorative wall fidget.
- I’ve searched every nook and cranny of the Zigbee settings.
- I’ve stared at the Cluster menus until my eyes crossed.
- There is no “Switch Type” or “Edge/Rocker” option to be found!
It seems my Sonoff is completely ignoring my toggle switch. Has anyone else encountered this missing menu mystery? Is there a hidden Zigbee incantation (or a specific cluster attribute) I need to manually poke to make the physical switch actually… switch?
Thanks in advance for saving my sanity!
