I previously built a distance display to show how far away my wife was. Now, I have expanded it, so that it tracks all four of us in the family. The kids have Tile trackers in their backpacks and the grown ups have phones with the Home Assistant App installed. It uses proximity mapped to servo angles to display how far away someone is. An ESP8266-12 is running ESPHome.
The whole thing, including the gears are 3D-printed and uses four micro servos.
