In https://developers.home-assistant.io/docs/development_environment one of the 1st things mentioned is:
Getting started:
- Fork the repository.
- Clone the repository to your computer.
- Open the repository using Visual Studio code.
When you open this repository with Visual Studio code you are asked to “Reopen in Container”, this will start the build of the container.
Where does ‘the’’ and ‘this’ refer too ? A link would really be useful

Those instructions are generic and will work from most repos that have a devcontainer.
You found them under the instructions for “Home Assistant Core”, so in that context “this” does indeed refer to the link @aidbish shared
