Thermostat energy displayed as 0kWh, even though heating is active

Hi,

I’m very new to home automation. I’ve just installed a Heatit thermostat and a relay for controlling some lights. It’s all working fine, but in the Home Assistant app the energy consumption of the thermostat is displayed as 0kWh. I’m pretty sure the energy consumption of the floor heating is more than that, the floor is heating up nicely.

Why is the energy consumption output 0kWh? Is there something I must enable, or reconfigure to read the actual energy consumption?

You probably need to configure your thermostat to periodically send the current data to your Z-wave stick. You need to view the thermostat documentation and configure the thermostat. You can do that from within HASS: Configuration -> Z-wave -> Node Management, select the thermostat from the dropdown and then adjust the proper value in Node config options

Thanks for the reply,

I’ve experimented a little with various settings. But with no result.

All the config parameters are quite clear (and none of them seems to be relevant to power consumption output), except this “P Setting”. Any idea what the “P setting” might be about? I’ve seen it mentioned in two of the parameters:

  • PLo, FP-mode P setting (0-9)
  • P setting (0-10)

Maybe I should send an email to Heatit directly

I can’t really be of much help here. I use only Z-wave plugs, don’t have a Z-wave thermostat, and the manual you posted is pretty sparse. From my understanding you can’t really set a reporting interval. Perhaps you’ll have to resort to polling the data from the switch.

I’ll keep experimenting, thanks anyway!

Hi @birgersp, have you found a solution?
