Third party hardware similar to switchbot but for 2.4ghz remotes?

Hey guys,

I’ve got a ton of ceiling fans that use 2.4GHZ RF remotes and I’m wondering are any products that can integrate them into Homeassistant similar to how switchbot integrates IR.

Thanks,

Are you sure you mean Wifi? Anything on your network will integrate easily into home assistant, unless you mean RF?

What hardware are you using for your fans at the mo?

You’re correct, my apologies, it’s 2.4ghz RF. This is the module they use Tuya APP + RF 2.4GHz Bluetooth 5 in1 5CH RGBCCT LED Controller WT5 [WT5] - $17.99 :

I’m going to do some research as well, I completely forgot to lookup RF hubs like broadlink.

Thanks,

You should be able to use the tuya integration for that I’d think, there’s also the option of flashing it with tasmota/esphome for local control although that’s more advanced.

You could also control it via RF using the sonoff rfbridge & the sonofflan integration if you wanted, but might as well use wifi/network with it

No…
There is about 2 GHz to little in that bridge.
The Sonoff bridge only controls 433 MHz devices, not 2.4 GHz

Sorry missed that, if it really does operate on 2.4GHz then it won’t be using any kind of standard: Buy or create universal RF 2.4GHz controller - Home Automation and Networked Objects - Arduino Forum

So your best bet will be using the tuya integration or flashing it

Edit:
It’s probably worth testing the remote with a RF bridge though to check it doesn’t operate on 433

thanks for the help guys, I’ll report back!

I’m working on a 2.4ghz controller too. In the U.S. look at the FCCID on the case and find the test report.
