Thread-border router needed error when adding Thread device

I’m just starting out trying to setup my network and first device. I’m using the SLZB-07mg24 flashed with the thread firmware. I’ve added the thread border router / Thread / Matter add ons. I think I’ve configured the thread border router add on correctly. When I try to add my Aqara U300 smart lock as a device then I get the error “Thread border router required”. Wondering if anyone has any advice on where to start troubleshooting. The lock and Home Assistant are about 8m apart.

Usually the problem is the HA Companion App does not have the Thread dataset/credentials needed to get the device to join the Thread network.
