I have my system time set to local time (U.S. CST). All automations reference that time and work as expected. When I look at History, all times are reported in UTC rather than the system time. Is there a separate place that I need to configure the History screens to use and display local time rather than UTC time?
If you click on your name at the bottom left of the screen to go into your profile, you can select your time format and timezone.
Thank you for your suggestion. I am still having difficulty understanding “who’s on first” within HA with respect to dates and times. As you suggested, I looked at the profile and it was set to display UTC. But even after changing that to local time, if I look at history for a device or entity, the screen does in fact display local time. However on that same screen if I want to change the time range displayed, the selection must be made in UTC.
Also, as I noted, automations based upon local time triggers do in fact trigger at the expected times. However, as an example, on the visual editor for one automation, the title bar for the trigger says “When the time is equal to 23:00” but if I expand that entry, the actual coded entry is set to time 05:00:00. My time zone is UTC-6.
It seems that I still have something set incorrectly, or the UI is very inconsistent about date/time entry and display.
