I’m going complete crazy here trying to upgrade my stick to version firmware version 1.02. I have tried it with a Windows PC (Windows 7), tried it with a virtual machine running Windows 10. I even tried it booting into Windows 10 on a MacBook (Intel). But I can’t seem to upgrade my stick.
I followed all instructions I could find on the Aeotec website. I installed all the available drivers they mention. But an upgrade keeps failing. I keep getting the error “Assert RESET_N signal (press reset button)”. After pushing the ok button, I get the error “De-assert RESET_N signal (press reset button)”.
The stick is running version 1.0 and I would like to upgrade it to make a NVM backup. I want to switch to a ZooZ ZST39 and want to prevent to have to re-pair every device.
I haven’t tried upgrading using ZWaveJS UI yet, as I noticed that it could brick my Gen 5 stick.
Has someone here have the same issue before and have any tips on how I can resolve this issue?
Extra info: I can backup the stick using the Aeotec backup tool. I can turn the led on and off. That all works. I also noticed that the message says the driver is not installed correctly. However, I did install the programming driver and “better driver” from the site from Aeotec.
For what its worth, I’ve had my Gen5 stick since at least 2016 and was able to upgrade it (using Windows 10) a couple of years ago.
BTW I don’t know what’s wrong, but
may be the problem??
I made some notes when I updated mine, and here are my notes for installing the software:
3. Click on Install
A popup "Would you like to install this device software?"
Name: Sigma Designs Ports (Com & LPT)
Publisher: Sigma Designs, Inc.
Click "Install"
Popup "The operation completed successfully".
Did you get a popup saying the operation completed successfully?
No, the operation will not even start. I get a timeout message after I get the errors above. Even with the new Sigma drivers. I think the problem may be, that the stick is too old. It’s hard to find out when it wast manufactured.
Guess, that if I want to switch to my Zooz ZST39, that I really have to repair everyhing.
