Why isn’t there an easy way to access today’s forecasted high temperature?
I have no idea what you mean? It’s up to the weather provider to provide this. My particular provider for instance makes the high and low for the day unavailable after the min/max has been reached but this isn’t a HA problem to solve.
I use the custom average sensor to give me the minimum and max for the day and a template sensor to overide the provider max/min when it is n/a
