A Somfy wireless handheld transmitter 4 Soliris R #1810648 (5 channel) can be used to turn on/off the sunshine automation of a SOLIRIS RTS brightness wind sensor #1818225; has anyone ever integrated this switching function into HA?
thx
You can use this integration and it will add the sun and wind sensors into HA as well as the switching for the sun sensor.
Thanks for pointing this out - I had seen this development as well, but had balked at the additional hardware installations and configurations. If I understand it correctly, it is an intermediate layer between the RTS communication and HA and is currently the only solution for switching the sun function via HA?
Or can I use part of the whole development (only the HACS integration?) separately to be able to switch on/off exclusively the sun sensor in HA separately?
P.S.: Wind and sun sensors to the RTS awnings are mentioned - is the rain sensor also supported?
No matter what you do you will need a radio to communicate with the motors and an MCU to talk to the radio. You cannot just install the HACS integration and get the motors to communicate.
I have not seen the output from the rain sensors yet but if you have one I am certain we can get it integrated. Interestingly how do you turn the rain sensor on and off given the remote only has the sun sensor on it?
mhhh … I’ll probably have to wait for my retirement age to get into HW tinkering.
how much I would like to see a purchase solution of this …
The rain sensor is connected by cable to the sun / wind automatic and represents (according to SOMFY) a safety module exclusive to this awning, which can not be switched on / off.
Yeah it sounds the same like the rain sensor is the same as the wind sensor. I hear you on the retirement thing but I really did all the heavy lifting on this for you. If you take a look at the articles in the wiki it is a matter of connecting 8 Dupont connectors between the pins.
