Hey guys just bought this new product that topens offers to convert the use of the gate switch to make it connect to wifi. So now i can open and close the gate with my tuya app. Connecting it into HA it says the device is unsupported. I never had a device be unsupported before. Is there a way to get around this? Has anyone else ran used this device before? Is there a request i can make to get it supported? Thanks!
I have the same question. I have not bought one yet but am planning to install a TOPENS gate opener and am hoping this will work with HA. Did you ever get it working @Dragon88 ? And anyone else know any reason it won’t work - it’s on Tuya.
Hey, never got it working…
Thanks for the reply @Dragon88 ! And bummer.
I actually abandoned using the TOPENS TC196 and am instead building my own smart integration using a WeMos D1 Mini (<$4 US), ESPHome, and a couple of relays (<$2 US). So far I have a working proof-of-concept but I haven’t connected it to the opener yet because I am waiting for the gate to be installed. Everything looks like it is going to work and I’ll be happy to share my solution with anyone interested.
I actually have a special need that pushed me down this route: I have a double gate but most of the time I only need to open half of it - so I bought 2 TOPENS single gate openers (on advice from TOPENS support) and I plan to have them work together when someone uses the access control keypad but work separately (or together) when I open or close it from Home Assistant.
Any luck? I’m having my sliding gate opener installed tomorrow and want to integrate it.
