Hi there, I’m completely new to home automation and have just chosen Home Assistant to get started with. Got some coding experience so hoping I can pick it up without too much difficulty.
Anyway, my question is can anybody recommend a good 7" or preferably 10" screen which can be wall mounted to act as the user interface for the home automation? I appreciate this is probably more suited to a Raspberry Pi forum as it’s quite generic, but just wondered what you guys are using and how much success you’re having.
Also, is the user interface / GUI a separate component that can be downloaded? Is this simple to set up?
Hey, depends on your budget. A good place to start is with the Amazone Fire HD tablet which is fairly cheap. There are cases that can be used to mount to the wall and others that can be embedded into the wall.
Most people would use Tileboard to have a GUI interface, but all depends what you’re using it for.
ActionTiles is for SmartThings not HA. He’s probably thinking of Tileboard which is for HA. It’s just a cleaner look than Lovelace, but you can run either or
