TP-Link Deco M5 Outage = no local network

Hey guys,

My internet is (normally) very stable, but since this morning I have been struggling with an outage. Against my expectations I have been unable to connect to home assistant. Looking around on the internet (on 4G ) I noticed that I wasn’t the only one with a similar issue with the TP-Link Deco M5. For some reason it won’t let me connect to anything although they are visible in the app.

Now I’m looking for some advice:
A. Should I look for another (cheap) router and connect my deco’s to that one?
B. Should I abandon TP-Link or Deco altogether?
Or
C. Is there a setting or function i might have missed in the App?

Thanks for your help!

Check you homeassistrant instance IP through the Deco app. Sometimes it changes the ip. Try to log into your HA instance through that IP:8123 instead. Good luck

Thanks for the reply. It did indeed change the IP, but still unable to connect to it.

Did you set static IP for your HA instance under Supervisor/system? or in the app? or both? when you go to the deco APP, does it show an IP for homeassistant? or does it say UNKNOWN or something like that? If it does have an actual IP, it’s weird it doesn’t allow you to connect through http://thatip:8123

Thanks for your help! I’ve restarted the deco and noticed that I actually forgot to set the ip on static. Now i did that and it works for some reason
