I have 2 Deco M9 units for a MESH wifi network in my house and three more in my barn. The two buildings are a few hundred feet apart, so there is NO overlap of wifi between them. (The two buildings are connected by a fiber optic cable and are on the same LAN, with the same shared address space. Other than the two wifi ranges having different SSIDs - so I don’t get confused! - the two buildings behave as if they are all part of one LAN.)
When I set up HA (and I’ve done it twice - first time I messed up), the UPNP/IDG integration finds my M9 units (it calls it “M9”). At first it looks good and things get added and look okay. But then, after a short time (maybe 5-10 minutes?), I see errors or warnings about the M9s. I’ve removed them so I don’t remember exactly what the messages were for, but it looked like devices or entities that are part of the M9s are not enabled and can’t be reached or enabled.
I’ve looked for other threads on this, but either they were on other topics or there were no clear resolutions or answers, or, honestly, I couldn’t follow the discussion. (Hey, I’m new to HA!)
- If I have everything working and the M9s are connecting properly and enabled, what can I do with them? Is there any point in having them integrated into the HA network?
- Is this normal or is there something I need to do to make it work?
