TP Link devices on different wifi

I have several devices in my TP Link - Kasa App. One of these (let’s name it A) is on a different wifi (distance issue) . That device does not show in the TP Link Integration, I suppose because it is on a different wifi network, and therefore can not be controlled in HA.
I somewhat resolved this by creating an automation in the TP Link Iphone App, whereby A goes ON when device B is ON and vice versa. As B does show up in HA, I created the relevant automations using B and then basically the TP Link Iphone App mimicks B to make A go ON or OFF as intended.
I wonder whether there is a way whereby TP Link devices, on different Wifi, can show in HA.

Get the mac address(es) of the units. Then go into your router and assign an IP to them using the mac address. Whenever those mac addresses connect to your router, it will assign the IP you tell it.

Thanks but how will that register in HA ?

I misunderstood (the wifi part) and thought the TP links were getting assigned an IP outside of your network so HA couldn’t contact them. My bad.

You may not be wrong !!! I now understand what you are suggesting and will try to do that. I have never “created” a IP address based on MAC address but will try.

You’ll need mDNS in your network to allow discovery between subnets.

Thanks. I tried but I don’t think it is possible with my Google Wifi router… No worries as I my “alternative” solution seems to work.
