Hello,
I have some fans in my garage which are suppose to go on when the garage door state is change to open.
TP Link HS105 are the switches I use to control the fans. How ever, the only work about 50% of the time. I have tried using this:
trigger:
- platform: time_pattern
seconds: '/5' # every 5 seconds
action:
- service: homeassistant.update_entity
data:
entity_id:
Is there a more reliable switch that would work better?
Thanks!

I know there are some complications with heavy traffic on the TP Link’s.
I did look, garage door is going from closed to open successfully as well.
I’ve looked and looked and looked. Should I go with Z-Wave? Any good recommendations for plugs?

Did you look at the different Sonoff options? Customizable and for me much more reliable then tplink.

I know Sonoff have some Wifi plugs, S31. More specifically, what product were you thinking?

It depends on what you need. I use mostly S31 and S41 (temperature). Both work well with MQTT and automations.
