TP-Link Kasa 125 Light Bulbs not being discovered on HA 2023.7.3

I just bought Kasa 125L light bulbs but am having trouble getting them discovered by HA. I have set them up using the kasa app and they are working there. However HA can’t discover them. I already have Kasa switches working in HA using the integration.

I saw this post - TP-Link KL125 hack and was hopeful that upgrading my HA would fix it, but realized I’m already ahead of the fix version (2021.4.1 versus 2023.7.3 which I’m on)

Anyone have these working currently?

was able to manually add my light bulb via entering the device ip
