Works fine with the KASA app.
Following HA docs TP-Link Kasa Smart - Home Assistant
No joy.
Which ‘host’ is it asking for? No clue.
Linux ‘host’, RPI 4B with HA installed.
Follow the instructions, searches for 20 seconds then reports no devices found.
Plug is flashing green / red whilst doing this
Perhaps this is the issue?
But I assume host means the IP of the switch/plug.
How to find out if it (the plug) is using port 9999 please?
Would make sense, but ‘host’ and controlled device doesn’t seem right?
If that link is valid, then surely the documentation is wrong (despite Frank saying otherwise)?
Ignores that port issue?
Resolved. I had to install the KASA app on my phone, set up (without an account luckily). After that the plug in worked. Device now visible in HA.
I found this very confusing.
I would recommend that you use the edit button and add that to the documentations.
In case someone else has the same issue
Done, just now.
