Tp-Link Tapo L930 (LED Light strip)

Hi,

Noob here so please bare with.

I have Tp-Link Tapo L930 LED Light strip working via the integration.

I can select light effect via the below within the light

But I can’t see any of my custom effects that I make.

I can see them when applied within the tapo app on my phone within the dev console. Effect is called “test” as below

The dev console as above shows effect as “test” but I can’t apply this within call service\light either as an effect or profile.

Does anyone know how to apply this within HA?

Can’t offer help, but do have a question. I have the L930 to, but in my case I’m not presented even with the tapo build in effects that you can see (effect_list).

Did you have to do anything to make them available inside HA?

There is a HACS integration that I use for the 930 and that offers the effects option. I guess this is being used here as well.

Hello. I am having a similar problem. I have a L930 that I added through the TP-Link Smart Home integration. It does not have an option anywhere to see or toggle Effects. I installed HACS and the Tapo Controller from GitHub as suggested above, and no dice. I have deleted the L930 and re-added it, and also restarted the Home Assistant several times, and still no dice. If I had hair left, I would start to pull it out soon.

I just want to be able to change effects in Home Assistant. Any help would be appreciated!

came here to say how disappointing it is that you cannot control the strip from HA as one would expect.
I have the official integration as well as the HACS one, no way to set brightness or effect.
