Tracker not detecting a person in zone other then home

Good afternoon,

I have 2 zones setup, home and work. Home detects my presence with out a hitch going from 0 to 1 present, however the work zone never moves from 0 to 1.

I have played around with the radius (making it much larger then the actual area) and checked if the zone wasnt passive (it wasnt). Als kept my app open on the phone just in case

My person has 2 device trackers , being both my work and private phone with a companion app.

Interestingly enough if i wasnt to make an automation based on zone, i can choose either device with the companion app, but not my person.etc entity.

What am i missing here, do i need to assign the person to the work zone perhaps?

Silly question, but we’ve seen it before - your home assistant server is available on the internet, yes? You can open and use the companion app while you’re at work?

Good question actually, yes it is available from the internet and the companion app allows me to manage it like i normally would.

What yaml are you looking for? Neither zone is in the configuration.yaml

Both devices are android and both devices are attached as tracker to my person. It works perfect when entering the home zone, just not the work zone.

I also recreated the work zone, just in case, but it does not make a difference.

PS: I’m tracking the geocoded location of the app on the Samsung and it records the work address correctly.

switching the Sensor : Background Location Zone made the alert based on a zone popup and now i can see 1 person in my work zone. Not sure if it needs and Single Accurate Location, but i switched that one on as well.

this is required when using the request location update command, as well as when accuracy is not met as we will request a more accurate location. For best device tracking results that are battery friendly its recommended to follow the complete steps mentioned in the link.
