Tractive service not updating

Hello all - I’ve had the Tractive integration working for quite some time but in the last few weeks, it stopped updating correctly. I have to reload the integration manually to get it working again.

I’ve tried signing out, removing the device, re-adding it, etc. Logs are enabled but nothing in the logs. Please see screen shots.

First is after a system restart, 2nd is after manually reloading the integration

help?!

Hi Frank,
I’m facing a similar problem. I guess
I just bought my first Tractive tracker for my cat early january this year and still can’t get this to work properly.

I brought screenshots from the device page to show the symptoms:
The Sensors seem to work but the Configurations - Tab is unresponsive and the Diagnose-Tab is updating in a way that is completely messed up.
Since activation the Diagnose-Values remains at “Lädt nicht” (not loading), “Zuhause” (at home) and “betriebsbereit” (working). Especially confusing: the values are updating in random time frames. They won’t change, but seems to be “confirmed”… sometime while the opposite is true ( the tracker loads or my cat is outside )

In the beginning I just wanted to get notifications when my cat enters / detects our home-wifi and the tracker goes into energy_saving_mode.
Now it took me hours to understand what is happening here and I still don’t have a clue!
But I noticed two things in my situation.

  1. The interface doesn’t provide LatLong Data, as the HA-integration page suggests.
  2. When I enable debugging for this plugin. I can identify “power_saving_zone” as a possible indicator for my cats presence at home. This key either holds an hash or “none” depending on the tracker being in “energy_saving_mode” ( I also found actual LatLong Data)
    But how can I access this information while NOT debugging the integration ?

I hope my question helps reviving this thread :smiley:
Regards

Welcome - I’m not sure you’re looking in the correct place. Here is my tracker:

Mine definitely shows Lat/Long.

Try deleting and re-adding the integration. There are a number of sensors. Make sure you check the correct one. See below:

@Adilaour Here is a templating example getting the longitude. Of course, your tracker name will be different. You can do the same for the latitude.

{{ states.device_tracker.singy_tracker }}
{% set where_is_my_cat = state_attr('device_tracker.singy_tracker', 'longitude') %}

Hello @fspatt , I am really new to home assistant and seem to be having the same problem as you: regardless of where my cat is, Home assistant says the tracker is Home. The tracking in the tractive app works, with location refresh periodically without turning on live tracking.
Did you ever get a solution to your issue?

Yes. In my situation I ended up getting a new tracker.

I had similar issues and also ended up having to replace the tracker itself. It wasn’t just the integration that wasn’t updating, the native tracker app wasn’t either.

Oh I see, thank you both! Did you get a different brand with better integration? Or was it a defective device?

In my case, the device had stopped working correctly. Fortunately, there was an offer on the tracker so I managed to get a replacement quite cheaply (other one was out of warranty).

I think the device was “upgraded”. I did an upgrade/lost device and it was a minimal charge.
