So I got tradfri bulb and dimmer which I paired with the bulb. It worked like a harm for some time, until my little daughter came and started playing with the bulb itself (switching the bulb power on ad off for few times). Eventually she made the bulb to jump in to the pairing mode after which it showed up in home assistant ZHA integration without any action taken from my side. Since that moment I could control the bulb from HA and from dimmer independently (dimmer is not showing up in ZHA). This was a perfect setup, especially in case of HA crash (I could still control the bul without the HA).
I tried to repeat this on my other tradfri bulb + dimmer sets. Unfortunately I never succeeded to get it working same way again. Further more I somehow crashed my first setup and now I can have just one pari. The bulb can work wither with conbee, either dimmer.
My question is. Was that just any kind of coincident that my bulb was talking to conbee and the dimmer, or maybe there is any procedure to get that working, which my daughter discovered accidentally, and Iām not able to reproduce ?

have the same question.
I have the same setup. What works for me is:
Get yourself some power cable where you can connect your bulbs directly to. So that way you easily can put them to reset/pair mode.
- Switch off all light bulbs.
- Reset Tradfri Dimmer Switch (pressing 4 times reset button, wait for red light to flash in front 4 times as well)
- Pair the dimmer switch with HA (via ZHA, Zigbee2MQTT or whatever you like)
- Reset your light bulb and then pair it as well with HA.
- Now do NOT turn off the light yet. Now pair the light bulb directly with the tradfri dimmer switch. If that was successfull you now can control the light with the dimmer switch as well as in HA.
- Turn off the light bulb and continue with all other light bulbs the same way again beginning with point 4 of these instructions.
The WAF (wife acceptance factor) rose by like 100% when she still can switch lights on/off while I sent my HA instance to hell again
