Tradfri remote configuration

Hi!

Completely new to home automation, and thinking about getting a raspberry with home assistant.

I have ikeas tradfri, and planning on adding it through out the house.

I just have a quick question for those of you who are in to this!

What I’d like to do is to make the tradfri remote alittle more useful, by using home assistant for all setup. Is it at all possible to add remote into HA and program the remote button to have multiple click functions.
So that I can have a set of functions that will toggle as I press the on off button? Say first click turns on all lights, second click sets a preset mood, third click a different mood, forth click all lights off, just as an example.

Would be happy just to hear if this is possible at all.

Thank you!

This isn’t possible with the Tradfri implementation just yet. IKEA is supposed to be relasing a public API which may allow it in the future.

What you want requires you to ditch the Tradfri bridge and use different hardware to interface the lights/remotes/motion sensor to HA, like the RaspBee or Conbee from dresden elektronik. There’s a forthcoming HA component that supports them and allows you to automate whatever you want based on remote button presses.
