Anyone is experienced with IKEAs Tradfri Dimmer Switches (E1743) ?
Bought a new tradfri switch, unpacked it, 4x within 5 seconds pressed the pair switch on the back! 4 times red flash light in the front, then I would pair it with Zigbee2MQTT (Sonoff USB DongleP stick).
Then I just switched the “on” button on the new remote and in one room of my house the tradfri lights went on. How is that possible? New switch. Not coupled with anything (except the zigbee dongle) and it switches randomly the lights of one house? Behaves like it commands another switch to do its thing (in this case the switch of the room which switches on all the lights in the room). Anyone ever experienced the same?
Am I wrong with assuming that pressing the button 4 times that the switch does not only goes to pair mode but also deletes all pairings it has with any other device? Is pairing mode something different than a factory reset?
First I read it as you had unpacked 4 switches from the packaging in 5 seconds, and I was super impressed.
Then I realized you are just as mediocre as the rest of us and probably struggled with the unboxing also.
Sounds strange but also not completely unlikely that two bulbs/switches will get the same “code”.
I actually believe that is different, you are supposed to pair one remote to several bulbs, so if pairing was factory reset then that would be impossible.
Just send IKEA an email and ask for the factory reset procedure and see if that works.
if I would be that fast with packaging stuff I probably would work for bezos
No I mean keeping the button on the back pressed close to a bulb pairs the switch with the bulb. that works fine. what I am struggling with is that when I reset the remote (by pressing the button on the back 4 times) then I cannot control my (test) bulb anymore. But still this switch then can switch the lights from my bedroom on/off. I don’t get it.
Even more weird, that happens to the third remote now I tried.
