Tried to install on android 4 unable to register

I have installed the app (ver 1.0) from google play, but I cannot register it as:-

  1. It keeps saying there is no internet connection, but there is as I downloaded it from Google play!
  2. It gives me java errors saying it cannot send information using https!
    how can I get it working??

Are you talking about the companion app? It requires android 5. Getting Started | Home Assistant Companion Docs

No, it is claimed to be an automation system in Google Play and here, but there is no server that runs on the android operating system!
So you are just left hanging.

I really don’t know what you have installed, perhaps tell us precisely what you installed, including a link to the play store entry?
