Hi,
I’m new. I use Harmony and my goal is to turn my home theater lighting on before my projector turns off. Unfortunately, Harmony does not allow moving lighting actions earlier in an Activity. So far, my newbie attempts still result in the theater lights turning only after the Stop Activity completes its process. My goal would to be start turning the lights off the moment that a Harmony Activity “begins” to Stop. Can anyone suggest a way to accomplish this?
hmm… can i ask why it must be exactly synchronous? i believe the push that harmony makes is async, i’m not sure there’s a way to guarantee order.
i don’t know anything about your setup, but if your projector is like mine in my harmony setup, the only thing that harmony does for the projector is to turn it on and off. it never changes input controls or anything like that. so one thing you could potentially do is to remove the projector from that harmony activity. let homeassistant turn the projector on and off instead. so have homeassistant listen to the harmony trigger, then it turns on/off the lights and the projector. if you did that, then you can control the order…
We did much the same, removed projector from harmony activity, wired a Shelly in the proctor power supply and set projector settings to power up with the 230v supply (as before it would only power up in to standby so still needed a ir command)
Harmony still sends a power off ir as a stand alone command (from memory) and HA simply powers done the projector 5 mins later (to protect bulb).
Also added bonus with Shelly was u til doing the above I didn’t realise how much money I was wasting by leaving the projector in standby 24/7, it was a lot more than I thought, although it’s a slightly older model and maybe newer version meet better standby currents.
