I’d like to trigger a service via Siri on HomePod, so that anybody in the house can call it. I followed this guide to set it up as an iOS Shortcut, but this is only working with my voice. I guess that makes sense because I only created the shortcut on my phone. Is this possible?
I figured out one option — I made a script to call this service and then exposed the script to HomeKit so it appears as a switch. A little clunky in the Home app, but it works fine!
That’s one of the ways you have to get used to using HomeKit so you can get around certain things. The iOS shortcut requires that you add other people in your house to your home in HomeKit and then have them each enable personal requests in their home app.
