I’m working on a new TRMNL integration for Home Assistant and have been experimenting with different layouts and styles. I’m finally getting close to what I envisioned!
Next, I’ll be doing some refactoring to make the project easier to maintain and to support more visualizations. Before I go further, I’d really love your feedback and suggestions.
Right now it meets my expectations—but I want to know if you would actually use it, and what you’d like to see improved or added.

I would LOVE to use this. . As you have acknowledged in the repo issues. the automatic installation does not work. I also can not get the manual installtiion to work. TRMNL doesn’t see it a plugin. I must have missed a step or two
I definitely don’t want to rain on your parade or take attention away from your fantastic work here, but I wanted to let you and others know that the company has published an “official” Add-On recently, as well:
Thank you for publishing this. I installed it manually and configured it with some test entities, but the TRMNL server complained that the webhook payload was too big and started rate limiting the updates. I’m going to set up a local BYOS instance and try publishing to that.
The official HA/TRMNL integration is a fairly heavy add-on (now aka “app”) that takes screen captures of virtual browser viewports. I greatly prefer your lighter weight approach and hope you’ll continue working on it.
