Currently running HassIO 0.88.2 on Windows 10 via Virtual Box. I’m trying to flash a sonoff basic with ESPhome. I purchased this USB to Serial board which is immediately recognized by Windows and shows up in Device Manager. In my Virtual Box settings I added the board to my USB Device Filters. Using Putty I ran the hassio hardware info command expecting to see something like /dev/ttyUSB2 as USB0 and 1 are already being used by my Zwave/Zigbee stick, but no dice. I’ve restarted the VM, restarted the host, and used different USB ports. Anyone have any ideas of what I’m missing?
Have you tried esphomeflasher? (see FAQ)
Getting USB to work in VMs is always a hassle.

I will give that a try.
i tried, and the device successfully connected to hassio and to my wifi network, however is not beeing recognized by the “esphome.io add on” inside hassio making it imposible to do further OTA updates which chops flexibility, hahaha and comfort. no way around it? i did try a several bunch of times, restarting de add on, the hassio, virtualbox and the whole computer from a fresh boot while the esp was connected, just like i would on a raspberry yet nothing worked on the vm. is just probable a usb setting that i dont know how to set, help would be much apprecciated
