Trouble installing HA yellow. Both methods fail

Dear Community,

I am trying to install the HA that I recently bought.
I followed these instructions Getting Started – Home Assistant Yellow and got stuck at step 10. The yellow LED is still always ON which indicates that somehow HA cannot access the web. The Ethernet cable is connected to my Router and I have made sure that it has internet access.
Thus, I have followed the alternative route of using rpiboot via this tutorial How to reinstall the operating system – Home Assistant Yellow. At step 8, again I am stuck since I get the message " loading embedded bootcode.bin" multiple times.

Please let me know what to do.

HA Yellow first install not working [resolved]

So, just to close this out. I never did get past Step 10 using the standard install instructions. The troubleshooting step provided above by Mark didn’t work (The Yellow showed up under ‘Other’ instead of ‘Ports’, thus there wasn’t a COM port that I could PuTTY to. My Mac didn’t recognize it at all.) I needed to load the entire OS (download from the git repo, ‘rpiboot’ and ‘RPI Imager’ using the full OS instead of the initial installer mini). Then, things started working great.

It seems that there is a problem with the driver. I uninstalled the driver but the error persists. Any ideas?

Hi again,

I used an ubuntu machine to trigger rpiboot; that worked fine.

I then used the latest image to install HA in the board. The red and green LED are always on. Nothing is happening.

Could it be that either board is broken?
