The exclusion before starting is usually the step most people miss with the Schlages assuming it’s new why do I need to. I think they test them in factory or have a high return rate so almost all I’ve ever tried to connect have been included prior and needed exclusion first.

That would make sens, I remember both my BE469 and BE469ZP wouldn’t complete the inclusion process before being excluded first.
