Troubleshooting HomeKit bulb timing out in standard pairing process

I have a couple HomeKit GU10 bulbs (Wifi) (AliExpress cheap bulbs, NFI which brand) which pair to HomeKit via the iOS/iPadOS Apple Home app, but consistently time out when I try and get them into HA via the HomeKit Device integration.

  1. Static IPs for devices
  2. Light in pairing mode, add to Apple Home iOS app
  3. Remove accessory
  4. Notifications of HA, click add device
  5. NOTHING

One device has a static IP, the other doesn’t, so it’s not likely an IP/network issue

I’ve asked on Discord and Reddit w/o reply; expertise appreciated on this one.
