short question, i bought 3 TRV zigbee Avatto ME168 (so detected by Z2M).
no problem, they appaer in HA but:
they are “moving (opening or closing)” regularly: about 3x/hour. do you think it’s normal ? i have other TRV (Vaillant ambisense) and they don’t open/close so regularly…
any idea or suggestion about that ?
thank you in advance.
Did you find any explanation for this ME168 behaviour?
I just bought 3 Avatto TRV’s on AliExpress which Zigbee2MQTT reports as ME168 (_TZE200_p3dbf6qs) and they also seem to start opening/closing for no apparent reason.
In HomeAssistant the setpoint temperature seems to change every so often even although I’ve done nothing.
I’m wondering if there is a default ‘schedule’ that is causing the setpoint values to change (even though I don’t want to use a schedule).
And can anyone explain to me what exactly is ‘Auto’ mode & ‘Heating’ mode? I’m going to guess that ‘Auto’ mode uses a schedule?
searching all aroudnthe Internet.
i finally found that i used those as ME167 iso ME168
I had to adapt schedule on zigbee2mqtt page because ME167 asks for 6 periods per day
until now no more problems
Are you saying that you have somehow reconfigure Zigbee2MQTT so these devices are seen as model ME167 and not the discovered ME168 model (_TZE200_p3dbf6qs) ? How do you do that?
If the devices are added to Zigbee2MQTT as ME167 and not ME168, does this stop the random opening/closing behaviour that goes on throughout the day???
I don’t really care about using them with a schedule. I just want them to open/close based on whatever setpoint temperature I set & to stop the random open/close activation all the time.
Okay - so the ‘fix’ is to use an external converter for the ME167.
But how do you know if your TRV is an actual ME167, wrongly configured as an ME168. Or if it really is an ME168?
I don’t think I get the issue with the temperature increasing to 153 degrees. What I get is the TRV open/closing the valve at random times - I can hear it whirring open & then immediately whirring closed, wait a few seconds & it whirrs again (ie. as you originally described in this post)
This fix worked for me. I pulled up my purchase bill to identify my model. It was infact a ME167 that was being displayed as ME168. No automations seemed to work and the even manual temperature control within homeassistant was not working correctly. I installed the fix and everything seems to work now. Thank you for you help.
this reference is clearly ME167.
in the catalog of zigbe2mqtt, you can compare photo of your model and the one of the catalog. in my case, i have a ME167 (model + photo are ok)
