Hello Everybody. I have been searching the forums for a while trying to find information about this. I found little bits, but I haven’t been able to find anything that completely solves my situation. So here it is.
I have build a Freenas Server and I have HomeAssisstant running in a jail. I have my Zigbee and Wave dongle working (GoControl Z-Wave/Zigbee QuickStick Combo) and it recognizes all of my Zigbee Devices. I have 3 Door sensors (MCT-320 SMA), 1 motion sensor (SMCMT01-Z) and 1 SMC Keypad (SMCWK01-Z). I have tried setting these up using MQTT, I have tried a manual alarm code I found and tried editing that.
In short, I don’t have a huge amount of knowledge, but enough to get myself in trouble. Does anyone have any pointers, or resources they would be willing to share that would allow me to get this working as an alarm system?
Other details about my non-functioning system. The sensors are all sleepy sensors I think. All of the sensors after about an hour or so from being “permitted” onto the zigbee network go unavailable, and I have to physically wake each sensor and then press the “permit” button in the ZHA configuration area to get them to become available again. I am hoping that what ever system I can build for the alarm can solve this, as after any sensor goes unavailable, it won’t be able to trip anything set up when a door opens.
I would like to be able to tie the system into my google home speakers to play a sound when doors open, if possible. I figure this would probably be possible through IFTTT, but once again I need some straight forward resources to learn how to write the IFTTT.
Last thing, my dashboard will not work, and I am unsure where to get the logs to figure out how to fix it.
Sorry to dump everything, I have just been trying to solve this for well over 2 months now.
Hi. Have solved your issues? I am searching for a Zigbee or wifi keypad for doing about the same but just find any, here in North-America. Did you find any working keypad? Thanks.
