Trying to make a simple grid headings at top, sensors LHS and data in a central grid

Hi,
I’m completely new to yaml and homeassistant.
Have programmed in ass, basic and pascal over the years so its not too scary.
Pity the general architecture of HA isn’t down somewhere buy hey…
Anyway I want to basically display a bunch of mains switch-sensors in a grid.
Neat and tidy. I note there are a variety of card-amalgamating cards about.
I have arranged an “Entities” card with names and icons blanked (units would be good too) but that just leaves loads of whitespace in the card.
There doesn’t seem to be any way to edit the size/formatting of either “Entity” or “Entities” cards.
Sooooo
Ideally I would like a supersimple card that displays ONE attribute (eg power, units, on/off) in a definable size of card. Then (I think) I can use the card amalgamation cards to make it into a grid with names along the LHS, units long the top and results in the central grid.
I am more than amazed that this is not a standard item, basically an “entities” card where only ONE data item is shown and the card size is settable to suit.
It should be about as basic as it gets, can you help?
