I set it up with Alarmo, but when the alarm is triggered it only “rings” for 1 min. After 1 minute it stops. in ZHA is recognized as siren, in Z2M is recognized as switch. I tried both and in both scenarios it stops after 1 min.
Even if i manually fire it, the switch goes back from ON to OFF after 1 min? Is this Home Assistant limitation to protect my neighbors. Why is it not ringing until an automations turn it OFF or my alarmo settings.
I tought is limitation of the domain “siren” but it is the same as a “switch”. Then I tought is a limitation of Alarmo, but even without it when fire manually again stops in 1 min. So is the issue with the hardware itself? Or is home assistant limitation to not annoy my neighbors? Any helps will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
P.S. If is is hardware limitation can it be flushes with new firmware? Or can you recommend another siren that will fire indefinitely? thanks
If its a limitation you can’t change with the settings and the device itself then the other option is to have a dedicated automation that whilst the alarm is in a triggered state for the automation to loop activating the siren every 61 seconds until the alarm is in an disarmed state.
yeah I thought of this solution but did not want to go that route yet. I wanted to know if home assistant has to do something with it or is the hardware itself (which will be stupid). Anyone else has similar experiance?
Do you have other sirens or this siren different sounds that by default play indefinitely? So I guess is not home assistant limitation but rather hardware?!
I do have a Heimann Siren and that simply plays indefinitely and onther sounds on the Aeotec Siren 6 also do play indefinitely. I guess it is a config in the device, but has nothing to do with Home Assistant
