Oké great, I will leave it as is for now. As for the newer firmware issue; are you updating progress on this topic or can I subscribe somewhere following progress on the issue?
Does flashing new firmware to the esp portion of the device wipe the zigbee data?
My Z2M device list is now only showing 3 devices
Getting nervous…
EDIT: Rebooting HA and Z2m addon resolved…phew
No, flashing the coordinator does though. All Recent z2m and zha releases do automatic network backups at startup and if same coordinator is used and is blank will restore automatically
That’s what I thought and was why I was confused/nervous.
Didn’t know that but glad to hear it.
@tube0013 after booting up my new adapter, it is discovered by HA and ESPHome:
Should i click “adopt” here? Don’t know if the device can be managed though the ESPHome Dashboard
@tube0013
I also got this after updating the esp f/w.
I clicked on adopt and it gave me the prompt below. I dont want to wipe out my esp config…so should I skip or install?
It doesn’t hurt to adopt, you can press skip. It
Will nag you to update with every ESPHome release
Which I do not advise doing.
Anyone have any thoughts on adding Matter with Tubez gear?
I’ve got the original/first Tubez Ethernet Coordinator with the CC2652P chipset running as the ZigBee Coordinator in the HA network, also an original/first Tubes Router CC2652P again running as a ZigBee Router
I’ve ordered a Home Assistant SkyConnect and from what I’ve seen the standard setup of this adds it as the primary ZigBee device in ZHA, which I believe would attempt to configure that as the ZigBee Coordinator.
So, I guess my question is can the SkyConnect can be configured only as a ZigBee Router, and then I enable the “beta” multi protocol support to enable Matter on the SkyConnect?
Maybe I’ll need to flash a custom firmware if thats available…
Anyone have any thoughts on adding Matter with Tubez gear?
Turns out the SkyConnect docs were updated last week and the answer is here:
There’s 3 firmwares available ZigBee, Thread and Multiprotocol (Both)
So, I’ve now got the following running:
- ZigBee Coordinator - Tubez Ethernet Coordinator
- ZigBee Router - Tubez Router
- Open Thread Border Router - SkyConnect flashed with Thread firmware only
I think you must wait for tubes zb to perhaps release a firmware for it. Even if Skyconnect use the same chip I am not sure the fw will work.
I monitor the Thread and Matter discord channels. The bottom line right now is that due to thread networks not sharing credentials, the most stable way to integrate thread matter devices into HA is via Apple border router devices. Until this situation gets better I’m not going to spend a lot of time testing thread.
I do have thread rcp fw on GitHub for the cc2652.

I also have rcp multi-pan builds for efr32 devices in a separate repository that anyone can experiment with.

How to upgrade the firmware of MGM12P Radio Module + WirelessTag WT32-ETH01 ESP32 Module to 7.2.1 ?
Do you have the rectangle one or the one that is mostly round?
If you are on HASSOS with addons you can use the silabs flashing addon I have linked above Tube's ZB Coordinators and Routers (was Zigbee router on steroids?) - #916 by tube0013
I’m also struggling to flash the “tubeszb-efr32-mgm210-poe-2022” to 7.2.2.
Is there any way to do that from Windows / Debian? I saw the (older) Youtube vid where you demonstrated it with an other coordinator, but can’t seem to find a software that can connect to the EFR32’s serial port via IP.
Round and I only have Hass core, not supervisor, thus your addon is not supported unfortunately.
see the post linked above, it shows how to update via universal-silabs-flasher from the commandline.
Thank you so much for the addon! It resolved a broken co-ordinator flash perfectly.
I got a skyconnect connected via USB which delivers bad coverage in my house. Which of your POE devices would you recommend or do they have similar coverage?
