Turning on/off Google Nest Cam

Hi there,

I’m new to HA, set it up as VM to test how much it may fit to my needs. So far I’m very impressed but it seems I have an edge case here:
I connected my Google Nest Cams and this worked but as far as I understand there’s no way of turning cams on and off from HA (due to limits on the used Google APIs). This was my initial goal.

Switching those cams is also extremely limited in Google Home (actually only presence and timers seem to work). Nevertheless, I wonder if anybody has discovered some clever workaround (maybe using additional tiools?) to achieve what I want?

I use the Unifi integration to block my nest cams from the internet when I want them “off”.

Oh, nice. Let me check this for my router …
Thanks for the hint!

I also connected my Nest Cams to home assistant. We have one in-house camera which we turn on/off always because at night the lights are disturbing.

Question: Is this still not possible? Google API still don’t offer it?
