Turning on one light fault

I have a blank canvas, i just reinstalled home assistant on my Pi4.

In my bedroom I have two IKEA lights, one in the window and one in the ceiling.

On the side I have a IKEA button that runs an automation if pressed. All connected trough ZigBee.

The problem has been the case even before the new installation.

When I push the button and the window lamp is supposed to start, no where at all do I have the roof light, but it starts at the same time?!??

I don’t even have any automation for the roof light, so why does it start the same time?!

The automation I use is if the window light is on, turn all lights off, if the light is off, just turn it on

Perform the following simple test:

  1. Turn off the automation.
  2. Press the IKEA button.
  • If the lights turn on then it means the button and lights are paired in ZigBee. In other words, the button is already programmed to control both lights independently of Home Assistant.

  • If the lights do not turn on then it means the two lights are grouped so that when you turn on one light with Home Assistant, the other automatically turns on as well.

Let me know the result of the test.

Hi.

Thanks for the reply.

I have now tried to turn off the automation and nothing happens when I push the button.

And the button was brand new when I added it so i don’t think they are paired up.
