Turning on WeMo Switch with Hue dimmer/bulb

Hello

In my kitchen I have some light that does not accommodate Hue bulbs, therefore I bought some WeMo switches on sale. My hope is that I can turn my old kitchen lights into smart lights using HA with the WeMo switches. This is the only room in the house with no Hue lights.
Essentially I want the wemo switch to toggle on/off when I use a Hue Dimmer Switch. I was thinking of doing this by letting the dimmer switch control a hue bulb, which would then let HA toggle the WeMo switch based on the bulbs state.

TL:DR: Can I “fake” a hue bulb by using a WeMo switch?

This should work just fine -

You will need to create an automation triggered by the state of one of the hues that triggers the wemo. One thing to bear in mind is that hue status is polled, so if you turn on the hues with the hue app or a hue switch it might take up to 10 seconds for HA to see that and trigger the wemo. If you use HA to turn on the hues via the UI or an automation it should be pretty instantaneous.
