You can continue to communicate locally with tuya devices after the new firmwares.
Grabbing the devid and localkey can be a pain, but I just installed packet capture app on android and then after starting it loaded the smart-life app and did actions on the switches (or you can update).
Not anywhere near as good as tuya-convert, but at least it gives local connection for now.
