I want to get a ZigBee compatible Thermostat so that I can ditch the Honeywell Cloud connected thermostat I now have. I’m not clear on which would be the correct model of one of these thermostats for use in the U.S. for a gas forced air furnace and AC. Has anyone from the U.S. used on of these?
I used these at some condo’s I managed. Local control via touch screen and or Alexa, remote controlled via zigbee and phone via cloud. The HVAC systems controlled were central AC and forced air electric furnace.
@Dixey so does that work with Zigbee2MQTT in a local only mode without a cloud connection being required?
I use ZHA. It configures fine with all features available. Every thing I could do on the touch screen, I could do with HA. (I also used it with DeConz before I switched to generic ZHA.)
I only used the cloud service when I wanted to use my phone to control it. I did not intentionally test it without registering it to Emerson’s cloud service but it did run just fine locally when my Internet was down… except for Alexa.
One more note: I did need to set up an account on Emerson’s site to do the initial configuration. I didn’t NEED it any time after except for phone control.
@Dixey is the ST75 actually the mod you have? I can’t find anywhere that says that model has ZigBee, just WiFi.
You are correct. It is 2.4Ghz wifi. It is NOT Zigbee. My apologies.
It does interfaces to HA and Alexa easily though
After looking at the details of both of these thermostats neither can be changed to fahrenheit mode so I guess neither is usable in the U.S.
