Finally managed to get some access to some Tuya RGBW lights, via Node Red and Tuya direct API calls (LocalTuya is a no-go at the moment due to integration issues so sticking with using Tuya-auth nodes in Node Red).
By some trial and error, plus cross referencing what DPS would have been available in LocalTuya, I know that I have access to the following:
I don’t fully understand what I can do with these although the Instruction Set: dj in Tuya has been useful.
However, I would like to get the light to flash green for 15 seconds but have been unable to work out what json commands I send for this. I expect that colour_data_v2 can be set to green (hue 120 sat 1000) but is it possible to use the commands available above to flash the light and then stop flashing and, if so, what would the json commands look like?
I was just looking for documentation on smart LED fairy lights (also category “dj”) bought post-christmas, and came across a link to Function Definition of Lighting Products on Tuya website with a fair bit of the information you are looking for
Mine doesn’t have the last 3 modes that yours does, and I am still puzzling what to put in many of the LocalTuya integration fields.
However the available dp_ids don’t seem to map easily tot the 13 LocalTuya integration fields for this category.
@stain3565 did you get much further with your lights ?
I did put mine aside and now got the calendar reminder to try making more sense of my “Smart WiFi LED Faity Lights” for this xmas (along with trying to fix the other “broken” LED light strings).
I’ve plugged my lights in and turned on. The status LED blinked green until it connected to WIFi. I can connect using the Tuya phone app , and TuyaLocal finds it easily (but doesn’t seem to correctly identify all its finctions - but that’s probably related to me swapping from LocalTuya during the year).
The problem is … I can switch the lights on and off, change colour and pattern from either Tuya app or Home Assistant … but the LEDs remain unlit Oh well, off to YouTube and Google to find out how to fix LED strings while there’s time.
