I’ve aquired a wifi Aroma Diffuser\Humidifier that connects to Tuya.
I’ve successfully setup Tuya on Home Assistant and the device shows up.
However, it shows up as “unsupported” and I can’t really interact with it. I remember reading a post about creating a virtual switch on Tuya that would allow Home Assistant some basic control like turning it on\off but, for the life of me, I can’t find that post anywhere.
Any tips on how to get around this, even with minimal control like turning it on or off?
Thanks for leaving this!
Simple solve to my issue using the Asakuki Smart WiFi diffuser, Tuya, HA official integration. Home Assistant was populating the entity as a humidifier which is correct, but not recognizing the separate LED. I made a few scenes in Tuya:
LED on / colour change
LED off / diffuser off
LED Nightlight / diffuser off
LED on / diffuser low
LED on / diffuser high
Now I just call the scenes in HA and my diffuser does all that I want.
Same sort of issues here with a Morento MR6w
It wanted to use it’s own app but it’s clearly a Tuya device, added to Tuya and it shows up, control works.
I can reload the integration, the humidifier is listed, but it shows as offline and unable to control it.
Setting up scenes does work, but would sure be nice to have it and associated cards work like other Tuya devices.
On intergration reload, it goes from Humidifier became unavailable, to Humidifier turned off, and then nothing else happens, the status doesn’t change when making scene changes.
Maybe something is missing in the Tuya integration or something, not sure.
