I’ve aquired a wifi Aroma Diffuser\Humidifier that connects to Tuya.
I’ve successfully setup Tuya on Home Assistant and the device shows up.

However, it shows up as “unsupported” and I can’t really interact with it. I remember reading a post about creating a virtual switch on Tuya that would allow Home Assistant some basic control like turning it on\off but, for the life of me, I can’t find that post anywhere.

Any tips on how to get around this, even with minimal control like turning it on or off?

Nevermind, I’ve worked around it by creating Scenes inside the Tuya app that show up on HA.

Leaving this here in case it helps anybody else.

Simple solve to my issue using the Asakuki Smart WiFi diffuser, Tuya, HA official integration. Home Assistant was populating the entity as a humidifier which is correct, but not recognizing the separate LED. I made a few scenes in Tuya:

  • LED on / colour change
  • LED off / diffuser off
  • LED Nightlight / diffuser off
  • LED on / diffuser low
  • LED on / diffuser high
    Now I just call the scenes in HA and my diffuser does all that I want.
