Tuya Integration Issue since 2021.10 (new version)

Hi,

Ever since I setup Tuya for with HA 2021.10.2 everything setup ok except for my dimmer switches. None of my dimmer switches show in HA, but they show in Tuya Cloud integration, and via the Tuya Smart phone app. I read the docs it says switches should be a supported platform, so the question, how does one troubleshoot this issue since this is super new.

Previously in my 2021.09.7 update it showed 27 devices, and since the conversion it only shows 24 devices (minus my 3 dimmer switches)?

Any help on this is appreciated, thanks!

same issue, any fixes?

Well crap. That explains why all of my dimmer switches didn’t import. My window sensor too. From the breaking change list, it sounded like only covers were not supported. Sounds like the list was a lot bigger than that in reality.

yea, this tuya integration upgrade broke a lot of stuff by the look on github:

I’m hoping that the HA developers or someone from Tuya actually will fix this, or at least maybe revert to the previous setup till everything is ironed out.

nop, just have to wait till we hear from some developer unfortunately

There is an issue with dimmer switches. I have been running the HACS tuya v2 before and had reported the issue with dimmer switches in the github already a few weeks ago. I also hope this will get fixed asap since dimmer switches are really pretty common.

Surprisingly Tuya support replied to me with an answer about the integration, below is the link for supported devices on the current integration:

I am now waiting to see if they plan to add more devices in the future.

Dimmers are back in 2021.11.1

yup I can confirm that 2021.11.1 also fixes this problem.

@Thomas_Brady @kintaroju Did you make any config changes to get them working after 2021.11.1 release?

I have GoSund dimmer switches which worked fine before the whole Tuya integration. I’ve tried both “Tuya V2” & “Tuya” (official) integrations without any luck with the dimmers. Turn On/Off has always been working. I’m on supervisor-2021.10.8 & core-2021.11.1 versions.

It looks like a bug with GoSund implementation. Leaving the link to GitHub issue for posterity.

No configuration changes at all, this is the first time I have set up Tuya in home assistant, as these re my first Tuya Devices, up until now everything has been Tasmota flashed…

Took a bit to get it working but seems to all work now, even the dimmers are showing up in HomeKit nice!

I just recently moved to the supported Tuya integration. When I did, all switches came in, but none of my dimmers did. My entire house is mostly dimmers. I feel like if we have to move to a new integration it should at least do what the previous one did.

I now have no control of dimmers in Home Assistant.

@matthewjohn hey, what flavor of HA are you on, the 2021.11 release is suppose to have dimmer support (speaking from experience).

In the 2021.10 release it had zero dimmer support.

Just an FYI I have dimmers switches that work properly in the current release of 2021.12/11 atm.

Most Recent Version.

@matthewjohn did you configure your tuya iot account correctly and do you see your dimmer switches present there?

the above link is the github ticket in regards to this as it was resolved, so I suspect you have a configuration issue with your tuya iot account.

I see all the dimmers within the dev portion of the Tuya website. I Also can control all of them via the Tuya iOS app. My switches all show up in Home Assistant just not a single dimmer.

which service API have you authorized for your account?

I have a total of 6 setup here:

IoT Core
Authorization
Smart Home Scene Linkage
Device OTA Update
Data Dashboard Service
Device Status

Hi this seems to be an old topic, however my MOES dimmer (2 Gang Dimmer Switch Module (e3oitdyu)
by Tuya) has the same problem. Is there any solution for this. I configured it via Tuya to have support of the Google Asssitant (‘directly’) and not natively via Zigbee in HA.
Dimming works with the Tuya app and Google Assistant, only in HA I’m able to turn on/off the lights.
