Tuya Integration - Missing Entities

Hello dear fellows! So, I’m quite new at this and I’d like to know what could possibly be the issue here.

I have set up the Tuya integration and linked my devices using the Tuya account key. However, there are some devices that in the Tuya app have multiple functionalities (e.g. My smoke detectors also support temperature and humidity), but in the Home Assistant hub, only the smoke detector functionality along with the battery status would become available.

I am not sure I fully understand why and I am wondering whether there’s some way of making those missing ones available as well. I’ve read across the community topics about the Local Tuya integration, and I was wondering whether that could expose the additional missing entities.

Thanks and cheers!

Yes, the Local Tuya integration does expose more entities and attributes for entities, but it requires additional setup as you have to define the pins of each device to get their functionality. It sounds more difficult than what it is, but I managed with a bit of patience, along with trial and error. I use this one in particular because the branch is way ahead in commits compared to others I’ve seen. You’d need to add it as a custom repository in HACS.
