Tuya intergration succesful but device doesn't show up in HA

I have a single Tuya smart plug on the Tuya app on my phone (got a ton of other Hue devices in the house but first time trying Tuya).

The phone app is sucessfully linked to Tuya IOT platform.

Tuya IOT platform shows the smart plug as Online under Devices.

I added Tuya integration to HA, linking it to Tuya IOT, successful.

However, the Tuya smart plug does not show up under HA.

In HA The Tuya integration shows 1 entry - my account linked via Tuya IOT. It also shows '‘no devices or entities’ next to that account in HA Tuya integration page.

Do I need to take any other steps to add the smart plug that is already visible in Tuya IOT? I thought once linked it would automatically add devices to HA?

Update 1:

Came across this post offering a solution to similar issues.

However, my IoT Core trial extension should not be required as I registered today only (for the first time) and the trial is listed to expire on 2024-01-02 14:56:55. Correct?

Update 2 / Solution:

Followin @Krivatri 's recommendation, I installed LocalTuya via HACS, linked that too successfully to Tuya IOT but found no devices/enitites yet. Then I saw that the entities were finally showing up under Tuya integration (not under LocalTuya).

if I’m not mistaken, you also need to configure the smart plug in the tuya integration?

I have installed LocalTuya via HACS and linked it to Tuya IOT and after this and a reboot the Tuya integration (not LocalTuya) shows the smart plug and all related entities!

LocalTuya integration still shows zero entities but at this point I am glad it’s working.

I used to have my tuya smart plugs integrated in HA via the local tuya integration and all worked fine. I must say sometimes when adding a new device it did not go always as planned tho. Don’t remember exactly how and why. I have converted my smart plugs to ESPHome firmware, they are truly local now, and it’s so much easier to integrate.
anyways, there are plenty of good youtube videos on how to integrate smart plugs in HA and local tuya.
