Well it seems after being corrected by frenck that this Official tuya V2 intergration here is not the same as the Official Tuya V2 Integration thats in the core now
so that could explain why things that were working in this official V2 and they have migrated to the official official V2 are now not working
Home Assistant does not take over anything. Running a custom integration is not related to the Core, there is no migration path. Custom integrations are not supported by Home Assistant.
You can stay on the HACS version if you want, you can also delete it and use the version from the Core, or even use both. What you do is your choice.
Whether the HACS version will continue to exist and be maintained by Tuya is unknown. I see that question a lot now, but it is something that one should ask Tuya. We at Home Assistant have no influence on and/or knowledge of this.
possibly who knows mate, too many tuya integrations flying around all with different capabilities
If you were using the old built in Tuya integration then that has been replaced by a new one in the core.
The one in this thread is a custom integration that the new core one could be based upon,
Ok, I am using the built in integration, that came with HA. So do I assume that the built in integration is now redundant and I need to move to something new? Apology for asking here, I realise it is inappropriate for this thread.
No apology required, there seems to be afair few today who are in the same situation
This points to the releases notes specifically the tuya part. by the looks of it, you may need to delete your existing tuya integration and setup again as there isn’t a migration path. Be aware if you have covers they wont work in this version at the moment.
How are folks going with this integration? I have a smart power board that works great and a Smart Air Purifier (Kogan …listed as SmarterHome Smart Air Purifier 2S) that shows the fan as ‘unavailable’.
I have the same issue. Tried multiple times, there is 1 device in the app and in the tuya cloud, but HA sees nothing…
I have been testing with the previous Tuya integration and that one did work but after some testing not without an internet connection. The iPhone can connect to the Tuya device without internet. Without the internet connection I was able to control the device from the phone, but not from HA.
I wanted to see if the new integration is any different, more responsive and “in sync” with the device and phone.
With TUYA v2 I had all the door sensors and motion sensors, with this official integration everything disappeared, only the switches remain.
There are only 32 sensors…
All devices are there in the IoT, but they don’t pass the sensors to the Home Assistant
It’s too early to install, I had to go back to TUYA v2
