Assuming this is a wifi plug, did you check signal strength e.g. via the smartlife app? The non-pathway plugs I have are far from good wrt distance to the wifi-router

signal strength looks good. 10 feet thru wooden floor from router

The short distance is not a guarantee. The one that was troublesome for me is below 5m from the router, no blocking elements in between and shows -79dB which is a joke of course wrt to signal strength. The other three are just fairly better (less bad) But anyhow, if yours is fine on this one, did you check the tuya log itself?

Here’s the log. I see off line and then immediately on line.

Yep, but far from bad. The 3-times ‘OFF’ before that (in a 1 minute span) are also odd but within this 2-day log I myself would not be too concerned, but I would when seeing your initially posted logs.
If it is not the device then it probably is HA intergation (re/dis)connecting with Tuya…that goes beyond me
Not even saying localtuya would help but you might try that…the setup with project a.o. is slightly challenging but … a possible alternative

How about this…

That is what I meant when I was referring to your original post, seems HA / Tuya integrations has issues…hence suggesting tuyalocal but no guarantee. As no-one else chimes-in, this could also be seen as a single-device issue.

I’m actually seeing this on two devices. They are not located near each other but they are the same manufacturer. Interesting.

Smart Plug
|Brand Name|HBN|
|UNSPSC Code|39120000|

There are soo many ‘tuya’ devices out there, I have already 3 ‘brands’ and no way to get one single view on them…and then there are in-brand differences over time too.
For now I can only propose to try localtuya unless someone else knows more, Worse-case…it will not work. Also in other protocols like zigbee there are devices that state to do something (e.g. power consumption) but in reality…nop.

I am using LOCALTUYA. I’m going to reach out to TUYA and see if they can offer anything.

thanks.

That was not clear before, then … did you try via the ‘normal’ Tuya integration? Just to see if this is more device related or not

EDIT: are you running tuyalocal with or without the cloud api account (I run without) and did you check swithching protocol versions?

I had installation issues with Normal Tuya. Local was a breeze . I’m running with api account. didn’t know this was an option.

But it is not working fine, question remains, is it localtuya or the device.
I am sorry but I ran out of ideas
