well you would be better to find some alternatives as tuya based devices are becoming more and more complicated to reflash due to boring modifications made by Tuya
I’m looking into this as well. Would you mind telling me where you found the workaround? True integration would be great but I’d be happy if I could get it working any way I can.
i have the tuya ir blaster that works with wifi, so if you have the zigbee one, not sure if below steps would work for you.
1- configure the IR blaster in smartlife app.
2- setup the remote in smartlife app and confirm that the device is working fine.
3- enable the tuya integration( as far as i am aware, local tuya does not support ir blasters at this time) in home assistant.
4- in the smart life app, create a “tap-to-run” scene with the remote “state” that you want to map with HA
5- after a few mins, the scene from smartlife app with show under scenes in HA.
There is a Tuya-IR plugin for homebridge that basically beings all your tuya remotes in to homekit. it works really well with Air conditioners and some other remotes also. I am using it with my gree dumb inverter AC’s and it just works. Just install homebridge and in the plugins search for homebridge-tuy-IR and all you have to give it is the device ID and the rest of the stuff it picks from the tuya iot.
I am having a small issue that I would like to seek your help and support. I have a few IR blaster for my daikin air cons. These are tuya based and work well via the app and also via scenarios in HA. However, the big limitation on this is that I would need one thermostat for heating, another for cooling and a higrostat for drying. On top of this, all temp, speed and other settings need to be input via scenarios, making it a weird and unresonable approach in my view.
I have sucessfully integrated a broadlink mini4 with smartIR and I can have all granular control of one AC unit via this integration in one thermostat card, which is amazing.
So, my challenge and question is on how to do this for the remaining tuya ir blaster? I tried to include the devices via local tuya integration as different entities (switch, binary sensor, climate, etc) but cannot have it active…they are all disabled.
Any suggestion on how to integrate these tuya into smartIR?
